5 Tweaks To Improve On Page Optimization

What specific steps can you take after writing your content to get your content closer to Google Page 1? You need to optimise your content within your website first (on page optimisation) before working on your off page optimisation.

Reaching the top few spots on Google Page 1 even for less competitive keywords is no walk in the park.

Ranking on Google takes strategic planning, skilled implementation, outstanding content & perhaps even some of the 5 on page optimisation tweaks below. These 5 tweaks can help you rank better on Google for any content you create.

1. Improve User Navigation

  • Make sure your website is not confusing to navigate.

2. Add Call To Actions

  • Call To Actions (CTA) refers to prompts on websites asking users to perform a specific action.

  • This prompt can in the form of a button, URL or interactive site element.

  • You can include a CTA for the visitor to check out another article, product or service related to the current article a visitor is reading. Or even a CTA to try out an interactive quiz or fill up an enquiry form.

  • CTAs can keep people more engaged and on your website for longer, indicating to Google that visitors are happy with the website result displayed by Google.

3. Create Interactive Quizzes

Quiz time
  • Interactive Quizzes are Quizzes that will help your reader find answers to a particular desire they have or solve a particular pain point.

  • Before I converted my business The Noteway into a gift blog, we were a t-shirt printing company working on ranking competitive keywords like "T-shirt Printing Singapore:

  • Blogs and high quality content pieces alone did not help us move to the top 3 spots on page 1 of Google.

  • To overcome this challenge, we dug into our customer pain point and found out that they would LOVE to know the prices for them to print their custom designs on different number of t-shirts instantly. So we came up with an interactive "check your t-shirt price" quiz, where they could answer some quiz questions, and get an indicative price quote for their t-shirt printing enquiry. This increased the time website visitors spent on our website and their interactions on our website, helping us improve our Google rankings to the coveted top 3.

4. Include Contact Forms

  • Give customers an easy way to contact you and submit an enquiry if they have questions.

  • Contact forms make way for a better site visitor experience.

5. Improve Website Security

  • Turn your Not Secure or HTTP Site into a Secure HTTPS site.

  • You need to install a permanent SSL certificate to your website to make it secure.

  • Once you install a SSL certificate and make your website secure, a Secure Padlock (See padlock in image below on the left of my blog website URL) will appear on all of your website URLs.

I hope these 5 hacks help to push up your Google Rankings across your whole website!
